Loop was originally shown as a site-specific video and sound installation for Artists Airshow, organised by The Arts Catalyst at the Former Royal Engineering Workshops at Farnborough (September 2004). It uses footage I shot from the cockpit of a Slingsby Firefly, of a repeated aerobatic manoeuvre performed in the skies above Northumbria in August 2004 (pilot Steve Marples). It was shown in the flight simulator shed at Farnborough. It explores the -loop' as a manoeuvre, as a time concept and as an edit function. Vulnerability, fear and the desire to depict and experience different states of gravity are also foregrounded.
